Ka'Chava Review: Is It Worth It?

If you’ve ever bought a protein supplement, listened to the Joe Rogan podcast, or followed wellness influencers on social media, you’ve likely heard of  Ka’Chava. And while some supplement companies invest more into marketing the product rather than its quality, Ka’Chava meets the best of both worlds.

With 85+ superfoods, Ka'Chava has gotten quite the buzz online. But does this "Daily Superblend" live up to the hype and are there better alternatives? Let's dive into our Ka’chava review!

Jump straight to:

What Is (and Isn’t) Ka’Chava?

Ka’Chava is a plant-based protein meets superfood supplement.

While it’s touted by the brand as “Your Daily Superblend,” Ka’Chava can be difficult to nail down to one particular supplement category because it includes so many nutritional benefits while still lacking in others. We like to call it a plant-based protein and superfood supplement because it contains elements of each.

However, Ka’Chava is not a meal replacement.

While some refer to Ka’Chava as a meal replacement shake or even an “all-in-one ultimate whole body meal" at only 240 calories it doesn’t quite pack enough fuel to serve as a complete meal replacement. So don’t fall into that trap.

At best, Ka’Chava is a healthy snack replacement

While we disagree that Ka’Chava is a meal replacement, we do believe it would make a great replacement for some of those not-so-healthy mid-morning and mid-day snacks – like the secret stash of sugary candy or chips in your desk!

With 25g of plant-based protein, 4-7g of fiber, only 5-6g of added sugar, 7-8g of fat, and 21-25g of carbs, Ka’Chava has everything that your body needs to make it feel satiated even when those pesky cravings strike.

Is Ka’Chava Good for You?

Ka’Chava is jam-packed with superfoods and has many great qualities — there’s no questioning that. But just how good for you is it? That’s a question we truthfully can’t answer without all the facts — for reasons outlined below.

What’s Behind the “Proprietary Blends?”

Ka’Chava is guilty of this unfortunate trend we’ve seen from greens, superfood, and plant-based supplement companies: Hiding the exact amounts of their ingredients behind “proprietary blends” rather than listing them directly on the label. Think of it as a “secret recipe” undisclosed to the public.

While this may not seem like an important factor at first glance, it can be quite significant when you take into account the science of nutrition. After all, there is a range of nutritional ingredients that have been scientifically proven to provide certain health benefits (through rigorous testing). This allows health companies to tout the benefits of their products!

However, without knowing the exact “recipe,” this leaves us and you wondering what’s behind these ‘proprietary blends’ and how much of each ingredient are we actually getting? Which leads us to the next point.

How Much Supplement Are You Actually Getting From Ka’Chava?

A major factor when it comes to whether the ingredients in supplements can provide the benefits that they claim is how much of the actual supplement is included.

Take maca root, for example, one of the ingredients listed in Ka’Chava’s adaptogen blend. Preliminary studies show that when taken in doses of 3.5g per day for six weeks, maca has been proven to enhance mood, lower sexual dysfunction, and even reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Taken below that amount, scientific evidence still needs to be provided. And with Ka’Chava’s adaptogen blend (made up of six different ingredients) being only 1.2mg total, it’s unlikely you’ll reap all the health benefits from such a small amount.

The same goes for all of the other nutritional superfoods included in the Ka’Chava formula. While they’re great ingredients and allow the company to make various claims, without seeing an actual line-by-line outlining how much is in a serving, we don’t know if they provide any of the actual health benefits.

Is Ka’Chava Worth It? The Verdict Is Still Out

With 85+ superfoods and clean ingredients, we know Ka’Chava is a nutritious, well-rounded option. However, due to lack of label transparency, we can’t verify any of the other health claims

And at $4.66 a serving, the products don’t come with a cheap price tag either. Due to these reasons, we’re not confident Ka’Chava lives up to the hype…and there are other comparable options out there!

Is There a Worthy Ka’Chava Alternative?

Consumers who stumble upon Ka’Chava generally fall into two different camps: those who are looking for a good plant-based protein to add to their diet or those who are trying to supercharge their diet with a superfood supplement to get their daily nutritional needs.

Luckily, there are brands like Vibrant Health that provide 100% transparency in their ingredient labels. So we know for sure that there are alternative supplements to Ka’Chava whose benefits can be proven. Let’s see what your options are:
