Founding And Philosophy Of Ritual
Founded by Katerina Shneider in 2016, the company’s philosophy is all about transparency, simplicity, and science. Like many other supplement companies, their aim is to provide essential nutrients that many people don’t get enough of from their existing diets.
Quick Overview Of Their Products
Rituals product line is diverse, considering pretty much everyone. They offer:
More On Transparency
We stated above that they are committed to transparency. You may be wondering exactly how they go about doing this. Well, first off they say they aim to provide clear information about where they source their ingredients and the science behind their products. They also emphasize the fact that they don’t use GMO’s, they are vegan-friendly, and have gluten-free ingredients.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
Sustainability has become more and more important to consumers over the years. Ritual is known for its commitment to sustainability. How exactly are they committed? Well, every single Ritual bottle is made with eco-friendly materials, and they have initiatives in place to reduce their carbon footprint.
How Are Their Supplements Sold?
Ritual operates on a subscription model this way customers could receive their vitamins on an automated monthly basis. This means Ritual customers always have a fresh supply of their vitamins and they won’t forget to reorder.
Who Is Ritual For?
Ritual has a very broad target market, but if we need to break it down according to their marketing, here’s how we’ll do it.
Health-Conscious Consumers: Individuals who prioritize their health and well-being and are willing to invest in high-quality supplements.
People Looking For Transparency: People who value transparency. Meaning, people who need to know exactly what’s in their products.
Life Stage Specific Needs: A lot of companies sell generic vitamins anyone could take. Ritual breaks it down into different life stages (as listed above).
Eco-Conscious Consumers: As we said, eco-conscious people are on the rise. Some people will go and buy products based on this factor.
Busy Individuals: With the subscription model, busy people won’t lose sleep knowing they will always have vitamins.

How Are The Ingredients Within Ritual Products?
Instead of diving into the ingredients of every single supplement, we’re going to take a look at one or two. We’re going to take a deep dive into multiple factors like how effective the ingredients are, the transparency measures ritual takes, and more.
Supplement #1 Essential For Women Multivitamin 18+
At first glance, Essential For Women Multivitamin 18+ seems like a comprehensive supplement, however, you may realize that it’s missing vitamin c and calcium. Some would say that vitamin C within their multivitamin is a must.
Other than that this vitamin is considered pretty good, but for the price, you may be able to get one that’s more comprehensive.
Supplement #2 Synbiotic+
The second supplement is the Synbiotic +, which is meant to help with gut health. It has a 3-in-1 formula which includes prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics to help support your gut. It contains 11 Billion CFU’s, but only has 2 strains. While this is a pretty good gut health supplement, there are more comprehensive probiotic supplements out there with more CFUs and more strains.
Supplement #3 Ritual Prenatal Multivitamin Capsules
The last supplement we’re going to go over is the prenatal multivitamin capsules. While a decent supplement, it’s missing some micronutrients as well. It doesn’t have vitamin C and calcium.
On top of that, there’s only 55 mg of Choline, which is only 10% of the recommended daily intake for pregnant women. Given choline's crucial role in fetal brain development and reducing the risk of neural tube defects, this might be a significant oversight for those relying solely on this supplement during pregnancy.
Ritual Ingredient Transparency
Now let's talk about Ritual ingredient transparency. We stated above that they aim to be transparent, but how transparent are they?
Are They Third Party Certified?
They are indeed third party certified by the USP certified. This means the nutrient levels they claim are in the products are actually in there.
Source and Quality of Ingredients:
Ritual is known for providing clear information about where they source their ingredients. They emphasize the quality and purity of their components, ensuring that they are free from harmful additives or contaminants.
Supply Chain Transparency:
They go a step further by detailing their supply chain by providing information on where each ingredient is sourced from, the supplier they work with, and the reason for choosing that particular source. In their words, they ask suppliers for flow charts on exactly when the product was made.
No Hidden Fillers or Additives:
Ritual prides itself on not using synthetic fillers or unnecessary additives in their products. Every ingredient is listed, and its purpose is explained, ensuring consumers know exactly what they are ingesting.
Pros And Cons Of Ritual Overall
Pros Of Ritual
Convenient
People will get an auto shipment 30 days after their initial purchase. This make it easy to get all your supplements in without having to worry.
Transparent
They claimed they were transparent, and they are in fact transparent.
They Offer Free Shipping
On top of the automated orders, they also offer free shipping which is a plus.
Cons Of Ritual
Not As Comprehensive As They Could Be
As we dove into the multiple supplements we chose to review, we noticed one trend. That was that the supplements were not as comprehensive as they could be. For example, the multivitamins were missing vitamin C. The prenatal vitamin was way under the recommended dose for Choline. The gut supplement was pretty good but not as comprehensive as other gut supplements in the market (only containing 2 strains and 11 Billion CFU’s).
Pricey
They are transparent, so at first glance you may think the price is worth it, but transparency is only half the battle. When the supplements don’t have the ingredients they should, the price shouldn’t be so high.
What Do Customers Have To Stay About Ritual Supplements
We always save this section for last because of the fact that the customer is king. Their voice as a whole usually tells us the whole story. So, for the ending of this Ritual review, we’re going to take a look at what they have to say. We’re going to be using trustpilot ratings to the good points and the bad ones.
Pros from Customer Reviews:
- Users liked the unique lemon citrus smell, finding it refreshing.
- The vitamins are eco-friendly with recyclable packaging.
- Many found the vitamins easy to take without causing nausea.
- Ritual's comprehensive nature eliminated the need for multiple separate vitamins.
Cons from Customer Reviews:
-
While many users liked the lemon/mint flavor, a few found the minty taste to be a bit overpowering and expressed a desire for a plain capsule option.
-
One user mentioned experiencing "fishy, minty burps" after taking the vitamins, although this was not a universal experience.
-
A couple of users noted issues with their orders, such as being shorted one vitamin, although these issues were resolved by the company's customer service.
-
Some users mentioned that while they loved the vitamins, they would appreciate more transparency or options in the subscription model, especially regarding cancellations and modifications.
Overall Consensus From The Customer
Due to the fact that overall rating on trustpilot was 2.0, the cons stood out much more than the pros. Especially when it came to the customer service/billing issues. So what was a big pro in the beginning of the article, is really not a significant advantage when considering the broader customer experience. The recurring theme of dissatisfaction with customer service and billing complications overshadowed the initial positive aspects highlighted by some users.
