Well, today we have one of my favorites with our Maximum Vibrance Vanilla Bean Product and it is our Strawberry Post Workout Smoothie recipe.
You may wonder why this smoothie is great after a grueling workout. Well, for a few reasons, one of which is after a workout glycogen stores are depleted which is the primary fuel source for our muscles. Strawberries are a great source of healthy carbohydrates that replenish our glycogen levels. They are also rich in potassium, which is an essential electrolyte, and this helps us bring our hydration levels back. Although not rich in protein we can make this smoothie even better by adding a scoop of protein for added muscle recovery. And let's not forget that it is absolutely delicious and cooling which is a great way to reward yourself after an intense training session and still put nutrients in your body.
