AG1 Pro vs. Maximum Vibrance: What's the Difference?

August 08, 2026

Share
Two friends relaxing enjoy the outdoor.

The difference is purpose. AG1 Pro is a foundational nutrition supplement designed to sit alongside your meals, providing 2g of protein and 50 calories per serving plus creatine. Maximum Vibrance is a plant-based meal shake designed to be the protein and nutrient anchor of a serving on its own, providing 20g of complete plant protein and a greens, cereal grass and probiotic complex at 150 to 180 calories. They are not competing versions of the same product, and they also differ in how much their labels tell you.

Label and pricing data below reflects each manufacturer's published product pages as of August 2026. Formulas and prices change; verify against the current label before buying.

What is AG1 Pro designed to do?

AG1 Pro is the higher-tier version of AG1's daily powder, built on the AG1 Next Gen formula with three added ingredients: 5g of creatine monohydrate, 1.5g of calcium β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (Ca-HMB), and 75mg of a zinc carnosine complex. One 20g travel pack provides 50 calories, 2g of protein, 8g of carbohydrate, 2g of fiber and under 1g of sugar, plus a broad vitamin and mineral profile and a five-strain probiotic blend delivering 10 billion viable cells. It is sold in 30-count travel packs and contains soy.

AG1's own materials state that the product does not replace a protein supplement and does not provide enough calories to skip a meal. It is designed to sit alongside what you already eat.

What is Maximum Vibrance designed to do?

Maximum Vibrance is a a vegan plant-based protein powder built around a different priority: meal-scale plant protein and a dense functional food profile at a comparatively low calorie count. A two-scoop serving provides 20g of complete plant protein, 3g of fiber, 25 billion probiotics from 12 strains per serving*, and more than 100 functional foods, at 150 calories in Vanilla Bean and 180 in Chocolate Chunk. It also carries 36.5g of organic cereal grasses, 27g of organic micronutrients and 12.65g of antioxidants per serving.

The serving is flexible by design. Two scoops functions as a full meal-sized shake; one scoop functions as a lighter snack at half the listed profile, which makes the 15 Day container last 30 servings.

Where do the two labels differ?

Maximum Vibrance is shown here at one scoop rather than the full two-scoop serving, since AG1 Pro is not a meal product and a single scoop is the closer equivalent.

At the full two-scoop serving, Maximum Vibrance becomes a meal-sized shake: 20g of complete plant protein, 25 billion probiotics from 12 strains*, 3g of fiber and 36.5g of organic cereal grasses, at 150 calories in Vanilla Bean and 180 in Chocolate Chunk. The 15 Day container yields 15 meal-sized servings or 30 one-scoop servings depending on how you use it.

Which label discloses every ingredient amount?

This is the clearest difference between the two, and it is verifiable from the published labels rather than a matter of opinion.

AG1 Pro discloses its three headline additions individually, along with its vitamins and minerals. Three groupings on the label, however, carry only a combined weight rather than individual amounts: an Active Superfood and Prebiotic Complex at 7.4g spanning roughly twenty ingredients, a Daily Phytonutrient Complex at 1.5g spanning roughly twenty-one ingredients, and a probiotic blend listed at 37mg. The ingredients inside each grouping are named, but the amount of any single one is not stated.

Maximum Vibrance discloses every ingredient and its amount, with no proprietary blends. Vibrant Health also prints a formula version number on every label — Maximum Vibrance is currently version 7.0 — so buyers can identify which formulation they are holding and when it changed.

This matters because FDA dietary supplement labeling regulations permit a proprietary blend to be declared by total weight without breaking out individual quantities. The practice is legal and widespread. It also means that for roughly forty of AG1 Pro's ingredients, a buyer cannot determine how much they are actually consuming.

What does a serving of each cost?

Compared serving to serving, Maximum Vibrance is the less expensive of the two: $2.60 against $3.30 on subscription, delivering 10g of complete plant protein against 2g and 12.5 billion probiotics from 12 strains* against 10 billion from 5. AG1 Pro carries more fiber per serving, at 2g against 1.5g, and includes 5g of creatine monohydrate, which Maximum Vibrance does not contain.

Used as a full meal-sized two-scoop shake, Maximum Vibrance is $5.20 per serving on subscription — more than AG1 Pro, for double the protein and probiotic content. Which figure is relevant depends on how you plan to use it.

What if you want an actual meal replacement?

Neither of these is built for that. If your goal is to replace a meal's full calorie load, complete-food powders such as Huel are engineered for it and deliver more protein at a lower cost per serving — Huel Powder provides 30g of protein in a 400-calorie meal at $2.21 on subscription. Maximum Vibrance is formulated around protein and functional food density rather than calorie load, and AG1 Pro is not a meal product at all. Those are different jobs, and it is worth being clear about which one you are trying to fill.

The takeaway

The useful question is not which of these is better, but which job you are asking a powder to do. AG1 Pro supplements meals with broad micronutrient coverage and creatine. Maximum Vibrance provides meal-scale vegan plant-based protein paired with a greens, cereal grass and probiotic complex, with every ingredient amount printed on the label. Some people take a product like AG1 Pro alongside meals and a protein-forward shake separately; the two roles are distinct enough that they do not cancel each other out. Read whichever label you choose, and check whether the amounts you care about are actually on it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between AG1 Pro and Maximum Vibrance?

Purpose. AG1 Pro is a foundational nutrition supplement taken alongside meals, with 2g of protein, 50 calories and 5g of creatine per serving. Maximum Vibrance is a plant-based meal shake with 20g of complete plant protein, 25 billion probiotics from 12 strains* and 100+ functional foods per two-scoop serving. AG1 Pro also groups roughly forty ingredients into complexes declared by total weight, while Maximum Vibrance discloses every ingredient amount individually.

Does AG1 Pro have protein?

AG1 Pro contains 2g of protein per 20g serving, from pea protein isolate within its superfood complex. AG1's own materials state that it does not replace a protein supplement. Maximum Vibrance provides 20g of complete plant protein per two-scoop serving.

Which one is more expensive?

It depends on the serving. Compared serving to serving, Maximum Vibrance is less expensive: $2.60 per one-scoop serving on subscription against $3.30 for AG1 Pro, with 10g of plant protein against 2g. Used as a full meal-sized two-scoop serving, Maximum Vibrance is $5.20, which is more than AG1 Pro but delivers 20g of protein and the full listed nutrition profile.

What is a proprietary blend, and how do I spot one?

A proprietary blend is a group of ingredients declared on a label by combined weight rather than by individual amount. FDA labeling regulations permit this. On a label it appears as a named blend with a single gram or milligram figure, followed by a list of ingredients with no numbers beside them. If you see that pattern, you cannot tell how much of any single ingredient is present.

Does Maximum Vibrance contain creatine?

No. Creatine monohydrate is one of the three ingredients AG1 Pro adds to its base formula. If creatine is a priority, it is available as a standalone supplement and can be taken alongside a greens or protein powder.

Can I take Maximum Vibrance as a snack instead of a meal-sized shake?

Yes. Two scoops is the full meal-sized serving; one scoop delivers half the listed nutrition profile. The 15 Day container therefore lasts 30 servings when used one scoop at a time.
