  4. Is Spectrum Vibrance safe to use when pregnant?

Yes, Spectrum Vibrance is safe for use in pregnancy. Its antioxidants and polyphenol content will help support connective tissue integrity and blood flow, two attributes that will be of value throughout the stresses of pregnancy. Connective tissue integrity means that blood vessels and capillaries will become stronger, less prone to leakage (i.e. bruising) and that skin will become less prone to stretch marks. Enhanced blood flow, of course, means the flow of nutrients to your baby will be optimized.

Our formulator also recommends supplementation with iron (from plants or heme iron), folic acid, vitamin B12 and omega-3 fish oils. Look for oils that have higher levels of DHA (decosahexaenoic acid) or simply augment with a DHA supplement from fish oil or algal sources. DHA is essential for brain development, and will be a good supplement to take throughout lactation and nursing, too.
