1. Moringa Facial Mask by Emily Cunningham
Emily Cunningham is the Co-Founder & COO of True Moringa ‚ a line of clean beauty products made with moringa oil ‚ offering everything from cleansers to lip care. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Emily walks the talk when it comes to clean beauty. Here‚s a facial mask she loves, made with just three ingredients including ‚ you guessed it ‚ moringa oil.
Why She Loves it: Bring skin back into balance with this three-ingredient mask. Avocado hydrates and replenishes, honey cleanses and clears, and moringa oil soothes dry skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines, redness, and uneven skin tone. Moringa also helps to restore and protect the planet; moringa trees thrive in arid climates, require little water, and the nutrient-rich leaves of the tree can be used to help prevent malnutrition.
The Recipe:
- 1 tbsp. moringa oil (3-4 pumps)
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 tbsp. Bentonite Clay
- 1 tsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tsp. water
- 2-3 drops essential oil of choice
- 1/4 cup of Epsom Salts
- 1/4 Cup of Baking Soda
- 1/4 Cup of coconut oil (moisturizing and antimicrobial)
- Essential oil (I love Peppermint and Lavender together, about 3 or 4 drops of each!)
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. matcha
- 1 tbsp. dried lavender or 16 drops lavender essential oil (make it extra relaxing with substituting some of the salt with Epsom salt)
- the zest of one lemon, 2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon and zest of orange.
- tsp. vanilla (use with brown sugar)
- replace sugar with cup coffee grinds, a few drops of peppermint essential oil
- 2 tbsp. cocoa powder, 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/3 cup raw honey
- 2 tsp. evening primrose oil or rosehip seed oil
- 1 tsp. jojoba oil
- 2 tbsps. water
- 10 drops each lemon, lavender, frankincense essential oils
