Reflections on 2020 & Welcoming the New Year with the Vibrant Health Community

As we welcome the New Year, we‚ve also been taking some time to reflect on 2020. It goes without saying this past year brought many challenges ‚ and our hearts go out to those who were affected by the pandemic (from frontline healthcare workers to those who have lost loved ones). And as a small business, we‚ve faced our own set of challenges, but for us 2020 was about resiliency. Together with our team, we adapted to new work routines, supported Feeding America (and their COVID-19 Response Fund), and even launched a new series on IGTV, Vibrant at Home, sharing healthy recipes, daily practices and workouts to try from the comfort of your own home. Sure 2020 didn‚t quite look like what we had expected, but we made it through together ‚ and our foundation is stronger than ever before. As we step into 2021, we‚re hopeful for a brighter future. To celebrate the New Year, we spoke with some of our staff and community members to discuss their top 2020 lessons, New Year resolutions and ‚òword‚ of the year. Let‚s move forward together‚are you ready?

Michael Roy, Vibrant Health Inside Sales Representative

What word best describes the energy you want to bring into the New Year? Joy (We could all use a bit more joy.) As we enter 2021, what is your New Year‚s resolution? Slow down and enjoy the small moments. The one positive thing that 2020 gave us was the ability to spend more time at home with loved ones. As a first time mom, I am trying to soak up every moment this year has given us to spend together as a family. Share a Vibrant Health 2020 win! Vibrant Health added me to the team. Sarah Pignatello, Vibrant Health Operations & HR Manager

What‚s the biggest lesson 2020 has taught you? There is so much in life we can‚t control. We can prepare for what we can prepare for in life and just have to handle the rest as it comes. We can look at it two ways ‚ think everything is bad and be angry/upset about it or look for the best in the situation, although unfortunate and still hard, find the good and know that it is what it is and sometimes you just have to deal with it. What word best describes the energy you want to bring in to the New Year? Hopeful. As we enter 2021, what is your New Year‚s resolution? I have a few‚my husband and I are going to work at waking up earlier and the same time every day and I want to be more organized and concentrate on self-care, health and wellness.I also want to focus more on quality time with friends and family (when safe to do so) and less time on the phone or distracted. Share a Vibrant Health 2020 win! I think with all of the challenges I have learned to be more patient, not get upset and frustrated so easily and how to handle tough situations better.I have also spent more time with my son and husband, which I love.I am more appreciative of family and moments together, having lost my dad this year.My husband‚s family and I have also decided instead of material gifts this year, we are putting our money together to go on vacation next summer to spend time together because that is more important to us.I know how fortunate my family has been during such a challenging year.We were both able to still work through a pandemic, our son was able to stay in daycare, we were able to stay healthy.

Ashley Liberi, Vibrant Health Key Account Manager for the Chain Division

What‚s the biggest lesson 2020 has taught you? The biggest lesson 2020 taught me is to not only slow down and focus on the present, but also change my perspective on the challenges we've been facing with the pandemic and just life overall. It's really made me hone in on the blessings I have, regardless of the challenges I've personally been faced with this year. Things can always be worse and I'm thankful for the path I'm currently on. What word best describes the energy you want to bring in to the New Year? Determined! As we enter 2021, what is your New Year‚s resolution? My New Year's resolution is to change any negative thought/experience into a positive thought. My mom has recently been providing three positive thoughts to any negative thought and it's been helping her with the challenges she's facing, so I'd like to continue this exercise into the 2021 for myself! Share a Vibrant Health 2020 win! I would say with Covid-19; it's brought us all together as a company and forced us to evolve positively with the new work-from-home environment. I feel like we're all working harder than ever to spread health in the most efficient way to our vendors and consumers. I'm happy to work for a company who is fortunately thriving through the pandemic challenges. The Key Account Department alone has grown with two new accounts despite pandemicchallenges with Big Y Super Market (70 locations) and Hy-Vee Super Market (245 locations)! We're excited to see what's to come in 2021!

Clayton Bagnall, Vibrant Health Graphic Designer

What‚s the biggest lesson 2020 has taught you? This year has forced me to take a step back and look at all that I take for granted in my life. One thing that stood out to me this year is how strong I am. Having COVID-19 in March without knowing much about the virus, not seeing family and friends regularly, and making a big transition to working from home (being a people person) was extremely tough for me. I made it through, and it only made me stronger as a person. What word best describes the energy you want to bring in to the New Year? Kindness. As we enter 2021, what is your New Year‚s resolution? I have two New Year‚s resolutions to help my community. COVID-19 has been very hard on local families. Though I don‚t have much money to spare myself, I want to donate food to my local food shelter weekly. Also, I want to pick a random Facebook friend weekly to send them a message and tell them how much they mean to me and ask if I can do anything to help support them. I truly believe together we can rise up and make a brighter future! (Oh, and I want to get the vaccine!) Share a Vibrant Health 2020 win! My favorite part from this year working for Vibrant Health is having the opportunity to haveeveryFriday off this summer. This was essential to help me center, have extra time to care for myself and enjoy nature at its prime!
