Chew your way to a healthier heart! Cholesterol Blocker delivers up to 500 mg. of phytosterols per chewable, vanilla flavored tablet. Phytosterols are fatty alcohols found in plants that can block the absorption of dietary cholesterol when taken with food. One milligram of phytosterols can block absorption of one milligram of cholesterol.
If one eats any animal product (e.g. meat, cheese, butter), one will encounter oxidized cholesterol. Meat cannot be held in a butcher case, cooked, canned or processed in any way without oxidizing cholesterol. Milk cannot be pasteurized nor cheese allowed to age without forming oxidized cholesterol. Cholesterol is part of each muscle cell wall and is found in all animal fats. Leanness is not the issue. The highest cholesterol food listed in USDA Handbooks is turkey. It is just the nature of the beast that it contains more cholesterol in its cell membranes than most other animals.
Ingredients in Cholesterol blocker may inhibit the absorption of dietary cholesterol form the gastrointestinal tract.
Cholesterol Blocker should be taken with a meal to permit plant sterols to mix with dietary cholesterol.
Cholesterol Blocker tablets are pleasant, vanilla flavored chewables.
Each milligram of plant sterols ingested with cholesterol can block one milligram of cholesterol. Each Cholesterol Blocker wafer can halt the absorption of up to 500 mg. of cholesterol.
One or two wafers at each meal, depending on what is eaten, could stop the absorption of most of the cholesterol passing through the intestines each day.
Cholesterol Blocker works synergistically with aspirin, Vitamin E, omega-3 fish oils and fibrinolytic enzymes such as nattokinase enzyme to support cardiovascular health. Effective dosages of policosanol range from 10 to 40 mg per day, and those of plant sterols range from 300 to 3,000 mg per day according to human clinical trials conducted from 1955 forward. Cholesterol Blocker offers an appropriate ratio of 10mg:500 mg. policosanol:plant sterols.
Federal FDA regulations maintain that, Foods containing at least 0.65 grams [650 mg.] per serving of plant sterol esters, eaten twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 1.3 grams, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. A serving of Cholesterol Blocker supplies up to 500 grams of plant sterols esters.
The plant sterols and policosanol provide meaningful protection against oxidized cholesterol. The sterols (beta-sitosterol, Stigmasterol, campesterol plus lesser sterols) and “cosanols” are fatty alcohols, which cannot be absorbed by humans except in very minute amounts. In the intestine, they will combine with dietary cholesterol and secreted cholesterol in bile salts to create a new, crystalline matrix that cannot be absorbed. The compounds are then passed in feces.*
Plant sterols may also compete for cholesterol’s absorption sites along the intestinal wall, blocking absorption in that way too. Once the plant sterol wedges itself into the absorption site, it blocks absorption of cholesterol, but cannot be absorbed itself. The situation is similar to putting the wrong key in a keyhole. It may fit, but will not open the door. And the right key — the cholesterol key — can’t find a way in.
50+ years of research indicate that plant sterols in this product block absorption of cholesterol from the intestines on a milligram-to-milligram basis when ingested along with cholesterol containing food, and may also support healthy prostate and immune function.*
As a food supplement, take one (1) tablet DURING a meal containing cholesterol.
Each tablet may block absorption of up to 500 mg. of cholesterol.
